Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the use of media images in learning material on the Solar System on student learning outcomes at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Mataram during the 2023–2024 academic year. Solar System material has a complexity that requires an appropriate and effective learning approach to help students understand related concepts. In an effort to improve student learning outcomes, the use of media images is considered a promising alternative. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups. The sample for this research was VID class students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Mataram who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The experimental group received learning by using media images, while the control group received conventional learning. The results showed that the use of media images significantly increased student learning outcomes in the Solar System material. The average score of the post-test results of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. The use of media images can stimulate students' interest and involvement in learning and help them visualize abstract concepts about the Solar System. In the context of education, the use of media images has the potential to increase learning effectiveness by providing clearer visualization and animating subject matter to improve student learning outcomes in madrasas or other educational institutions.
